About Ultrasonic Liposuction
Ultrasonic liposuction is not all that new. In fact, the first ultrasonic liposuction procedure happened way back in 1987.
In essence, the ultrasonic liposuction procedure uses a high-pitched vibration to help ease the removal of fat from the body. The vibrations loosen fat and oil so they can be more readily removed.
Types of Ultrasonic Liposuction
There are two types of ultrasonic liposuction.
External ultrasonic liposuction uses a vibrating machine, which is applied to the skin externally, directly prior to the liposuction.
Internal liposuction uses a vibrating tube to assist in the removal of fat.
History of Ultrasonic Liposuction
The first ultrasonic liposuction procedures were all internal and did not work well. There were many potential side effects, including damaged skin or muscle tissue, and accumulation of fluids.
Even today, internal ultrasonic liposuction tends to be quite expensive. In fact, in the United States, an internal ultrasonic liposuction procedure will cost approximately $40,000.
External ultrasonic liposuction is the newest alternative to internal ultrasonic liposuction. It is currently the most popular procedure of its type.
If you are interested in ultrasonic liposuction, be sure to ask your doctor for data on the effectiveness of the procedure.
